Quadrature Encoder Interface PIC 2331

Can anyone out there tell me if swapping the a and b signals will reverse the count direction? I have a unidirectional system. It just happens to be going in the reverse direction as far as the encoder is concerned. It's a pain to deal with the poscnt registers in reverse.
